Carmarthen Golf Club
This delightful tract of lush parkland sits three miles up the Gwili Valley from Carmarthen town, one of West Wales' most inviting little towns for various reasons.
The club was formed in 1907 but the course was then situated nearer the centre of the town. In 1928 JH Taylor designed a new course at Rhydymarchog and it has been serving local golfers to great effect ever since.
A truly pleasurable experience to satisfy all levels of golfers, with some of the best views in Wales this course will deliver from start to finish
This is a reasonably short course but that does not suggest in any way that it is easily playable, a fact you will be inclined to agree with more when you walk off the first green.
Cardigan Golf Club
Cardigan lies high on a hill overlooking the Teifi Estuary at Gwbert and only two miles from the town of Cardigan. With magnificent views and course that throws up a challenge to match, Cardigan is certainly one of Welsh golf's true hidden gems.
It is a largely unknown quality in Welsh golf with those preferring to focus on the most famous courses such as Royal Porthcawl and Celtic Manor, but its presence never diminishes.
Cardigan is a truly majestic test of golf against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery.
Penrhos Golf Club
Nestling in the beautiful Wyre Valley around nine miles to the south of Aberystwyth, this top-class golf complex enjoys a wonderful location that is the envy of many clubs.
Penrhos is the only play and stay golf club in the whole of Mid Wales and you can be assured of a warm welcome whenever you drop by. No expense has been spared in this complex and an American-style hotel completes the luxury on offer to all.
The 18-hole championship course exhibits inspiring views over to Cardigan Bay and beyond, though there is also a nine-hole course for beginners.
Cwmrhydneuadd Golf Club
Cwmrhydneuadd nestles neatly in a secluded valley near Llangrannog in West Wales. Its setting grants a challenging round that's full of character and one that is to be remembered regardless of how you play.
It is a nine-hole course that is surrounded by gently rolling hills and bordered by crystal clear streams.
Keeping it straight off the tee will obviously give you the best chance of scoring well but don't expect an easy ride and there are hidden challenges everywhere, certainly enough to keep you on your toes throughout.
